Dear Friends,
This has been a busy time of year, but it is also a favorite time of year. Spring is probably my favorite season of the year, with new beginnings, and new growth. It includes my birthday, and each birthday is a gift from God-an end to one year and the start of a new one, to leave the past behind and to go forward in faith with God’s help. I love birthdays because they give us a chance to say thank you to God for those we love and express how we value and treasure their place in our lives.
One favorite ministry moment was Mom’s Morning Out. Kathy Connelly came and shared with moms how faith in God can enable them to rest and persevere in difficult situations. Kathy and her husband Peter and their children Dennis and Mary Elizabeth represent Mercy Ships here in the northeast. Kathy and her family were living out the words she shared when she came to Mom’s Morning Out. Their daughter was in the hospital and Kathy had been up with her for forty hours. Dad stayed at the hospital so Kathy could come and encourage us. She came in the strength of the Lord.
Linda and I are enjoying Friends at Countryside, the Bible study held twice a month for adults with cognitive learning issues. We have gained four new students this year. Linda is currently writing new lessons for teachers using The Beyond Limits curriculum. Pray for God’s wisdom for clarity and simplicity as she writes.
Looking ahead, we are rejoicing in these opportunities: Clinton’s birthday, Through the Roof Workshop to be held at The Fellowship in Easton on April 29 ; Linda will be at the Chapel of the Cross in Southboro on April 30; and I will be at Brookville Baptist on the 30th.
We are enjoying working with the Family Retreat Planning Team. Keep the retreat and the planning team in your prayers.
As you can tell, disability ministry is a team ministry, and you are a part of our team. Thank you for serving with us and enabling us to serve in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord.
